We all know those lucky folks who seem to have a gift for relating to people-- the ones who effortlessly put people at ease with their humor and toss off funny remarks while still impressing us with their competence.

And we’ve met the other sort, too — those people who make inappropriate jokes, laugh too hard at their own quips, tell the same anecdotes over and over, and generally give off an air of “avoid me if you want to keep your sanity.”
